The majority of the Kingdom of Jordyen is taken up by the Jordyen Peninsula and the Gunorak Mountains. The Jordyen Peninsula is surrounded by the Northern Sea to the west and the Inner Sea to the east. The Gunorak Mountains, home to diverse populations of orcs, goblinkind, and giants, act as a boundary between Jordyen and the territory of Jahhne, extending north into the Northern Lands.
Jordyen is a kingdom rich in gold and silver mines, as well as fishing and trapping enterprises; it boasts some of the largest coastal cities in all of Western Glashia. Fort Tallidor, the capital city of the Kingdom of Jordyen, is the largest city in Jordyen (approx. 48,000 citizens). Hundreds upon hundreds of trading and fishing vessels arrive at and depart from Fort Tallidor monthly, importing and exporting goods from the coastal villages of the Independent State of Western Glashia to Crierton, the capital city of the Miaford Commonwealth, and everywhere in between.
The Kingdom of Jordyen is ruled by King Rhyus Gatau "The Lion," who has been in power for forty-one years. After a disastrous battle at the coastal city of Sembardia over 40 years ago (where the father of King Rhyus, the late King Merran "The Bear", was killed), King Rhyus built up the armies and navies of Jordyen into what is considered the strongest fighting force in Western Glashia, with the Army of Fort Tallidor exceeding 11,000 regular infantry and 1,300 cavalry, and the Navy of Fort Tallidor exceeding 5,600 marines and sailors, and more than 76 warships of various sizes. If the entire Jordanian Navy were to gather, as it did during the Arvandian Offensive in YK 5398, the number of warships would exceed 250, with the number of sailors and marines totaling close to 30,000.
With the fall of the Province of Arvandus and the treaty signed between Jordyen and the Kingdom of Langington, as well as the provisions set forward with regard to the Dervatear population living within the Fillian and Kienken Mountains, King Gatau has aquired a large parcel of land extending west from Trader's Highway to Einith's Bend in what was once Arvandus. Although yet untamed, this addition to the Kingdom of Jordyen--known as the Arvandian Commonwealth--is to be ruled over by King Gatau's eldest son, Prince Femnyer, Royal Advisor of Military Affairs and Commander of the Jordanian Army, while still falling under the jurisdiction of King Gatau and Jordyen. Prince Femnyer's rule also reaches the Arvandian Isles to the north and west of the Arvandian Commonwealth.
King Rhyus and the Kingdom of Jordyen are in alliance with, and have a rock-solid treaty with, the Kingdom of Langington (including the Miaford Commonwealth), as well as the Kingdom of Aarenki. Contracts of trade and commerce, as well as magical and financial assistance, have been made between Jordyen and these two other Kingdoms. As with all of the other kingdoms and territories of Western Glashia, Jordyen does not have a signed treaty with the Fpathen territory of Jahhne, although free trade is commonplace and all friendly Jordyenians are welcome within the boundaries of Jahhne. In turn, the Fpathen of Jahhne are welcome inside the Kingdom of Jordyen.
The Kingdom of Jordyen and the territories of Tsan and Kinashae get along rather well, and trade is open between Jordyen and the two territories. As with the other kingdoms and territories of Western Glashia, trade and commerce between Jordyen and the Independent Province of Cannovan is open wide for, despite the fact that the Kingdom of Jordyen boasts a large fleet of trading vessels, trade between cities and kingdoms of Western Glashia and those of Alaretra and Gallaway is strictly forbidden, save trade that is done between Cannovan and Alaretra's Berniban, the Independent Province of Voster, and the coastal cities found within the country of Gallaway.
The Kingdom of Jordyen holds many temples and shrines to the numerous gods of both the Great and Lesser Heavens. King Rhyus has even gone so far as to hire on a Dervatear priest of the Order of Light, Master T'nom, as his Royal Advisor of Religious Affairs and Physician Supreme to the Royal Family.
